Particularly for Sportswear

If you are studying sportswear/footwear merchandising or garment merchandising, these are especially important:

1. Mesh Jersey
→ Designed for breathability and ventilation.

2. Cool & Dry Jersey
→ Designed to move moisture away from the body and dry quickly.

3. Jacquard Jersey
→ Uses knitted structures to create patterns without simply printing them on top.

4. Piqué Jersey
→ Textured and breathable; commonly seen in polo shirts.

5. Interlock Jersey
→ More stable and smooth than basic single jersey; often used for higher-quality garments.

6. Spandex/Lycra Jersey
→ Provides stretch and recovery, useful for activewear.

Easy Way to Remember

Note: Names such as “Cool & Dry” can be manufacturer/brand-specific fabric names rather than a universal technical classification. The exact composition and performance depend on the supplier's specification.
